Oleksandrivskyi Lyceum: From a Rural School to a Modern Educational Hub

Oleksandrivskyi Lyceum is an institution with a long history that has evolved from a small school in a suburban settlement into a strong lyceum that today provides quality education for hundreds of children in Odesa District.

The historical path

The history of organized education in Oleksandrivka dates back to the mid-20th century.

After the war, like many schools in the Odesa region, the institution was actively rebuilt following World War II. In April 1944, immediately after the liberation of the village, education was resumed. At that time, the school was located in small adapted buildings (“small houses”).

A new building became an important milestone in 1964, when a modern school building was constructed. This made it possible to significantly increase the number of students and improve learning conditions. For many years (almost 20 years), the institution was headed by a talented educator and leader, Valerii Ivanovych Zhosan.

Transformations followed in December 2003, when the institution underwent official state registration. The names and administrative subordination changed (from Kominternivskyi to Lyman District, and later to the Fontanka community), but the high level of student preparation remained unchanged.

Current status and achievements

Today, the institution has the status of a lyceum, which allows it to provide a full cycle of secondary education (grades 1–11).

The director of the lyceum is Tetiana Heorhiivna Pyndak, under whose leadership the school implements modern educational methodologies and digital tools (in particular, the Eddy platform and the “New Knowledge” system).

The institution is located in Oleksandrivka village at 2 Odeska Street.

The lyceum is proud of its graduates and teaching staff. Great attention is paid to the study of the Ukrainian language, literature, and history. The school is an active participant in the community life of the Fontanka Village Council, educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and innovation.

Despite all challenges, from reforms to martial law, Oleksandrivskyi Lyceum remains a “second home” for local youth, combining respect for past traditions with readiness for the technologies of the future.
